Try to open a new account with Administrator rights. Go to Start,Control Panel, User Accounts, create new account.

Thanks for the quick response tothe 2 of you (can't se a thanks button?), my probainlem seems more severe than the suggested thread and the problem is also preventing me from opening a new account, i get the same alarm when i try
something i have noticed is that neither zonealarm or popup stopper appear to have started, they are not in the system tray like they usually are, i just tried the chkdsk and they re appeared but i still had the problem, on rebooting the icons have gone again
i tried loading the spy checker as recomened but as i cannot connect i tried to transfer from my laptop, again it wouldn't open
how do i get to safe mode, i see this sometimes helps
No new software has been added, i have occassionaly seem this message before but a quick reboot has always cleared it

    Any mre thoughts anyone?

    Thanks

Try pressing F8 or F10 to get to Safe Mode. Once there, do your scans. Definately sounds like malware to me though, with firewall inactive. I would suggest that your next post be in the malware section.

    Hi
I tried asking this in the malware section, but no one there seems to wany to talk to me, any advise at this stage?

I'm curently working through your clean up procedure because of being unable to open .exe files (almost all) i can only run these tests from safe mode, both spybot and malwarebytes say they cannot remove all problems and will finish aftr a restart, when i reboot into normal mode i get a message saying that these programs are not being allowed to run, what should i do?

    Thanks

You need to be patient. There are more people with problems than there are people to help them. Continue with your cleanup and maybe someone will be free to help you at that time.
