Hi, a few days ago a got a BSOD, after that I am unable to run programs in normal mode.

I went first to Malware and followed the directions there, Kestrel13, suggested me to post in software cause he didn't find any malware related problem.

the only thing i couldn't do at the end was to update the java and erase the old one, cause i can really run any program in normal mode and and pc doesn't allow me in safe mode
    thanks for your help :)

from Kestrel13 "I am not seeing any malware in those logs. I am going to suggest that you post in the software forum regarding the BSOD's and the fact that some programs will not run. We can finish off here with some miscellaneous clean up:"

I put my link from the malware forum,

hi :), ty for the fast response! i tried fixfa and restart the pc, no changes.

I noticed that when i open a program like firefox, even it doesn't show anything , the Task Manager shows in Processes firefox.exe*32 for a few seconds and it goes away.

** i just noticed the other post Kestrel, i'll do that right away and give an answer as soon as a can ty

Try to run a scandisk / diskcheck on your C:, also try system file check "sfc /scannow"

Hi, i ran sfc /scannow at the end it showed this message "windows resource protection did not find any intregration violations"

i couldn't run scandisk or diskcheck, i got a messaged "name is not recognized as an internal or externaa command or ....."

for all of the 3, i went to DOS prompt on c:\ and typed those commands.

    ty

** post note** i was reading how to run chkdsk (scandisk) using windows, yesterday night i did this, i didn't know it was the same sorry, rigth click on hd, tool, errorchecking, and checked automatic fix filysystems errors and the other one, scan for and attempt recovery of badsector.

Hi , good news! after trying different things, i noticed that ThreatFire service was always on, even if I uncheck it manually on msconfig, I was trying to see the difference between safe mode and selective startup with all the services and startup disable, just the microsoft services enable (i thought that one of the microsoft services is damage or something )

I uninstalled the program in safe mode (get error message in normal mode), and the pc worked! i haven't done a lot of tests yet, but programs open, i can access internet , etc

I don't know why that program failed, (no sure if the real reason, a malware or something is attacking that specific program, i never had a problem before , and i have used it in other pcs)

    thank you both! :)
