Hi, I am unable to transfer files to my external 1TB hard disk.

Facing problems with transfer of a few video files. Tried to transfer them one by one (average of 1GB or less) does not work as well.

It will show the transfer time but it does not progress at all. I can't access the internet as well when I make the transfer. Browser status will show loading cache. It freezes my computer when i try to close the file transfer. I can only force shut down when I try to end the file transfer.

    Can anyone help? Thanks.

    Greetings, hippo_brown.

We need more information: make and model # of your computer, operating system and Service Pack #, make and model # of the external HDD, and what programs you have loaded and running as far as antivirus, firewall, browser, and transferring data.

I'm assuming the Buffalo uses USB 2.0 - does your computer also have USB 2.0?

    Yes, 2.0.

I have been using the external HDD for more than half a year and have not encountered any problems until now.

Tried waiting for more than 20 minutes but a single file of 1GB cannot be transferred. The time remaining does not reduce at all from the start of transfer.

Tried different USB ports as well but it doesn't help.

Take your external to a friend's house and try to transfer a file from the friend's computer to the external.
You do this to see if there is a hardware problem with the external drive or some sort of configuration on your computer. Based on this
I suspect something is wrong with networking and file and print sharing.
