Unable to update anything software wise. :o(

Im not sure what I may have done, but anytime I have a message that pops up stating I either need to update a peice of software on my computer, or HEY, TO CHECK THIS OUT click here, etc; instead of taking me to the website to execute, it instead loads up Microsoft Word instead and loads up the website text on Word as if it thinks Word is the default to load the webpages. Im running Win7.

Its sooo very frustrating. I need help bad.

I had a similar issue last week after installing, then uninstalling Google Chrome. The default browser was not properly set back to my original default browser.

Solution (in my case): opened my favorite browser and made it the default browser.

 

Now that you mentioned it, I did install/uninstall Google Chrome because of a project I was working on. Maybe thats it. Ill give your suggestion a try and see if it works.
