    Hey all,

I have a troubled computer in my shop, i built this machine for a customer about 6 months ago.

It has Win 7 x64 on it, customer came to me with an odd problem, He is unable to visit 2 websites, expedia.com and hotels.com

Every other website works fine, he has IE11 and Chrome on it, i have also installed firefox as a test. Customer has AVG, i have also uninstalled it thinking it might have been the cause.

I have run ccleaner, flushed dns cache, ran malwarebytes, superantispyware, adwcleaner, D7's clean up and malware scanner, reset windows firewall. Did a SFC scan, reset IE and chrome.

I am still unable to visit those 2 websites on this machine. Any suggestions?

    Hi

Weird two sites to be blocked, what security software apart from AVG does the user have?
Check the HOSTS file for anything out of the ordinary, even create a new default HOSTS file if needed.

Are Java and Flash installed as most sites like these use content that these two provide.

When trying to get to these two sites are there any error or notification messages as to why they wont load? and could try adding both of them as exceptions in IE's Security > Trusted Sites Zone.

Could also try Safe Mode with Networking and see if you can access those sites as this may highlight a 3rd party application as the issue and suspect a startup application as the cause.

Hello, outside of AVG no other real time security software was installed. Hosts file is clean, safe mode with networking does not help any either.

The only error i get is an occasional timed out error.

For testing purposes, change DNS to Open DNS in case it is a problem with his/her ISP's DNS.
