I have seen great danes around as big as that, tall as should i say, but not as big built.

I was working working one day, and a Dane not quite that big walked up with his master. I held my hand out for the dog to get a sniff and I guess he thought i was ok. He came in for the "scritch me now" nudge and nearly sent me on my arse. Amazing the power those dogs have, even the "gentle nudges"

I was eating at a resteraunt with a pier, which meant people could bring their pets. My boy (16 at the time) was eating a hamburger, looking around, when he stopped and did a doubletake at "Woody", a half grown english mastif puppy at 150 pounds. Now Woody was/is a complete gentleman, but having a dog around 10 feet away staring hungerly at your meal in your hands at your eye level is disconcerting at best, they had just arrived and Woody's master was looking for a seat, this place had a really good band going. The guy thought Woody would max out around 220-250 pounds, so that picture may reflect a truth even if it is fake. It really was funny to watch, and the dog was obviously a puppy for all his size. I gather Woody was also very used to being the center of attention, he was very friendly, good natured, and well behaved. We wound up giving him what was left of another hamburger after asking permission, the owner then had give Woody permission to take it. Standard guard dog training stuff.

I had a fried whose parents had THREE great danes. One didn't like me being in the living room (for some weird reason) and would just clean push me out using his nose in the small of my back. Was absolutely nothing I could do about it either!

 

Good fake..the dog's shadow is even there. But it does seem a little off

 

i had a friend with a mastiff. they really are that big. hers was bigger than my couch. she was a softie though.
