Underlined text hyperlinks driving me crazy

I downloaded and ran all of the recommended tools such as sybot, adaware, shredder, etc. I did get the pop ups to stop but I am still getting the annoying ads through underlined text. I will not attach the hijackthis file unless you want it. Thanks so much

 

You should note that this isn't necessarily a malware problem. Some sites use javascript for smart tag link advertisements. MG did it at one point, anandtech does it and a slew of other sites.

Like I said, it isn't necessarily spyware which does not exclude the possibilty that it is.

JohnJ, did you run through our spwyare tutorial? you said you downloaded all the recommended programs but didn't explicitly state that you worked through our tutorial.
