    XP creates an object type in My computer for Canon Camera's with type;
    DIGITAL CAMERA
    from inside the XP Windows Explorer/My Computer Dialog the OS then treats the files on the Camera's memory card as a filefolder and uses the normal file folder copy delete paste functions.

    Is there a way that anyone is aware of that VBA can create and or access this object so simple fileobject controls can be used in VBA to retreive pictures?

    This seems like it should be a simple process but I am going around in circles with pointers back to using Twain and or a Wia Manager neither of which I have found a simple solution;

    connect device
    move all files from device to folder (or copy and delete files from camera memory)
    disconnect device

    if the camera is assigned a drive letter then you only need to the file system object to iterate through the directories and files.

    XP is not assigning a drive letter to it ... Canon's interface doesn't link to XP as a removable disk media it links as a Digital Camera object ... that is why I am asking if anyone knows how to use this object from VBA or any other programming platform.
