Undo Taskbar Changes

My taskbar has changed despite me not chaning its settings. Icons in the taskbar used to be like the one I have highlighted in Image_01 (attached) even when the application was open. Now when an application is open the icon in the taskbar is like the one highlighted in Image_02 (attached). It is larger and shows what I'm doing. For example, I took the screenshot whilst typing this post and it shows next to the icon for Firefox that I am creating a thread in Majorgeeks.

I would like help in changing the icons back to the way they were. I have right-clicked on the taskbar and selected Taskbar Settings but could not find anything that seemed relevant. So, help in putting the icons back to the way they were would be much appreciated.

 

So you've tried System Restore?

 

No, I haven't tried System Restore because I thought there has to be some setting that I don't know about/can't find. I thought this must be something that one can change your taskbar to look like hence it ought to be possible to change it back.

I'll give System Restore ago. If I don't post again on this thread the System Restore will have solved the problem; otherwise, I shall have to return for more assistance.

What does the icon in pic 1 do? It isn't a Firefox icon.

 

That’s the icon for CCleaner.

I don’t know if it’s going to be a problem but I startred System Restore at 5.45 pm on 7th December and its now 12.45 am on 8th and it’s not finished. I’m going to bed and will have to hope its done when I get up for work tomorrow.
