Uninitiated reboot?

I am running XP-Pro. For the past two weeks or so something is causing the puter to REBOOT with no known reason or any action taken on my part. I have nothing listed in my scheduled task's that I know of that would cause this. I pulled up my bootlog but could decipher nothing!Can ANYONE give me any suggestions or tell me what area I should look in? Is there any tool available to use in tracing a problem such as this? Are you receiving a reboot message? Computer will shutdown and restart in so many seconds? This message usually indicates a virus. Have you dusted the computers innards lately, sometimes these these restarts can be attributed to over heating. Also check your power supply.

 

Is it going through the shutdown procedure, then starting up again OR is is just turning straight off then back again?

 

Thank you, Since I am usually not present when this occurs as best I can tell it reboots the same as if I had done it manually.

Thank you, Dust could be a problem because of the CPU' location, Ihad the power supply replaced not long ago! No message .However this reminds me of a problem which I posted to "geeks" some time ago and received no replys. When I actually activate the reboot deliberately one of the last screens that disolves has about a 1/2 second screen saying something to the effect that it is shuting down a hidden window in (as best I can see) SHELLCON [something or other] sorry I can't do better than that but it flashes on the screen for such a short time. SURE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THAT!
