uninstall avg error, please help

I get the following error when trying to unistall AVG 8.5: Error: Action failed for registry key HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows: creating registry key....
Error 0x80070005

I get the same error when downloading and selecting 'uninstall"

Can someone help, please?

Okay,

My intentions were to reinstall AVG, because I had "fixed" something with HiJack this that was part of AVG.

I thought I had cleaned everything out and then tried to reinstall, but this error message came up.

Local machine: installation failed
Installation:
Error: Action failed for registry key HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows: creating registry key....
Error 0x80070005

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Man, I'm too stupid. I'm learning, but hopefully haven't done any permanent damage.

I ran both steps and it still gives the same error message.

It took a while to run the dial a fix, but the reset.cmd didn't take a second to run. It was so fast, that I assume that it ran. I did follow the instructions.

I even tried installing from the C drive in safe mode.

I ran this 3 seperate times with no luck.

Any other suggestions?
