Uninstall chaos

Hello fellow geeks,

im having the weirdest thing this morning, yesterday I uninstalled 2 games (Half life and Madden 2005). everything went fine and I didnt do anything else on the computer until this morning. The thing is.. my whole games folder is messed up, most of the folders that were there have been deleted and most are incomplete (for example master of orion II isnt there anymore, and many more).

Im freaking out because im wondering if I have a nasty virus or something (I have avast - adaware - spywareblaster - pest patrol - xsoft and sygate .. all have been updated every week and I scan my PC on regular basis).

has something similar ever happened to you, is it possible that the uninstall yesterday did more than just delete the necessary???

im quite bugggled by all this .. I lost a lot of saved games.

ps: it only deleted stuff in my "c:\games" folder

 

another question...

if I do a system restore (from friday or saturday), will it restore my deleted game files or only system files (i never actually tested system restore).

im on Win XP pro (service pack 2)

 

well I did the system restore and it brought back the game folders and some files.. anyway I could uninstall them cleanly that way...

too bad for the saved games
