I installed a program called RegSeeker. It is by Hoverdesk.net. There is no reference to it in Add/Remove software and there is no unintall in its folder. Does that mean that It is not in the Registration itself, and can I just delete the folder and files?

    Hi Greyhound
Yes you can just delete the folder Reg Seeker in this case as it is not in the registry. However note that any back ups you may have made will also be deleted :)

This thing found so many more things to clean than any other reg cleaner I have seen that it kinda scared me so. I reinstalled the backups, but they still show in the backup folder, they must not delete when you restore them. Thanks Nick

    Agreed with Nick

But just to add to that on the question of back-ups you should see a folder in the main directory that you wish to delete, a folder conviently called Back-ups you can move this somewhere safe if you wish to keep it

Should you wish to install these back ups at any time they are just registration entries you can double click the file and put back all the changes you have made, you will get asked by Windows if your sure you wish to do this....

Or you can open the Back-up with Notepad and read the individual entries should you wish to go in regedit and repair individual entries

Edit: Sorry posting at the same time the program keeps a record of the back-ups if you wish to check they were restored open with notepad, then open regedit and navigate to one of the keys listed and see if the values match ;)

I use that program it has never given me any problems. IF if found lots of invalid entried then what you have is lots of invalid entries that is clogging up your registry. thus slowing your computer down

If I was you I would run it again then delete the files and then just make sure that you do not delete the backup. if something does go wrong which I doubt then you can restore it

if you right click on the backup keys and then click open with and then choose notepad as your viewer you can actually see what those registry keys are.

the reason why those backups do not get deleted is because they are added to the registry not replaced to the registry.

I used the registry cleaner in RegSeeker and had recurring problems with one of my applications, even when I only cleaned the "green" items. As the creators of this program advise, anyone using this program should know what they're doing, as it could mess up their registry.
