If anyone can help I would like to remove win 2000 pro and replace it with my old win 98se. It's an older system and most of whats on my mother board can't handle it.

So, what do you want to know; how to remove Win2K, or how to install Win98?

    To remove W2K
    Reformat your HDD:
    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=25831

you can use W2k disk to format (go fat 32 for 98) run set up as if you were going to install fresh OS once you get to format format in fat 32 file then remove disk, then install 98.
Or you can use Fdisk/windows 98 start up disk, format, create new partition, fat 32 file system/install 98.

Last thought, ya might be better off keeping W2K, what problem's are you having running W2K, maybe we can help solve your problems, post your problems and your spec's.
I have several computers one of them is an old IBM 333mhz it run's 2000 pro just fine much better than 98, I had to search around alittle to find some drivers, and added a stick of memory, when I run 98 lot's of freeze ups none with 2000.

I don't know that much about computers but I'm learning the hard way. My system is Intel 533mhz-w/256k cache,256mb sdram pc100,10 gig western dig hard drive,8mb agp video w/3d graphics,8xdvd drive,810 chip set and 56k lucent modem. Some of my dll files were lost and I could not find them. I thought installing 2k would give me a fresh start but now my floppy drive won't work and I need to find drivers to upgrade sound card, modem and a few other things.

your system specs, will run W2K fine, I'd say forget 98!
Drivers we can find, Dll's can solve that too.
A Download of Everest to identify hardware:
    http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html
and will give links for drivers, you will also want to make sure download all critical W2k updates.
Is your system running now with W2K?
If Not reinstall OS, Load what basic stuff ya can.
Sorry I got to go (hockey game tonight a late one) Ill get back to you, may not be till tomarrow.

    For missing Dll's:
    http://www.snapfiles.com/help/missingfiles.html

I would probably go for complete reformat & reinstall of OS get all critical updates, then go to device manager and see what missing.
Next I would download any needed or updated drivers etc.
use Everest to identify and try it's links, or google your hardware info in search of needed drivers.

    In Bios, disable modem
