I have recently updates my Nvidia Geforce 440MX to an ATI Radeon 9800. I followed the steps in the book exactly, and unistalled my Nvidia drivers before installing my new graphics card so-as to not have any conflicts.

But now everytime my computer starts up, i get RUNDLL Errors, saying that
    C:\Windows\System32\NVCPL.DLL & C:\Windows\System32\NVMCTRAY.DLL
Caused invalid modules, or something to that nature.

I have tried removing them from the registry using Regedit, i have also downloaded Regcleaner, and also Hijack This, but everytime i remove them from the registry, and close the program, i re-open the program and they are there again. I have also tried using all 3 of these programs in safe-mode, but to no avail.

Please help, these faults are become particularly tedious.

    Many Thanks.

    download a program called drivercleaner
    from: http://www.drivercleaner.net/

run it and remove all the NVIDIA stuff and reboot.
you may have to reinstall your ATI Drivers again, since you didn't do this to begin with.

    good luck.

    try this:
make sure you have your ATI Drivers/control panel on the desktop.
clean all three NVidia entries using driver cleaner.
    clean ATI with driver cleaner.
    reboot.
after you reboot, make sure you stop any automatic hardware installs.
install your Ati drivers/control panel from the desktop
    reboot.

after you do this see what happens.

Just tried that and the errors are still present. I don't understand why it keeps reloading itself in the registry when i have deleted it?

    just noticed this, open msconfig
and see if it's trying to load from there
ie. uncheck Nvcpl and reboot (if it's in there that's prolly been the problem all along)

    later.

    delete this key
    hkey local machine,software,microsoft,currentversion,run,then delete,Nvclpdaemon

(also delete any other Nvidia stuff you find)

    good luck.

I have now fixed the problem, It was Ad-Aware running in the background all the time, and everytime i deleted them from the registry, its was taking it as a malicious attack on the system and reloading it again.

Thanks for all your help, i'm very greatful. :p
