I wanted to remove Microsoft Edge from my PC but the uninstall option in Settings>Apps is greyed out. It doesn't appear in the list of programmes in Revo Uninstaller. Therefore, I assume it is verboten by Microsoft. Can anyone please confirm I can't uninstall it.

In the latest update the new Microsoft edge is now part of Windows and cannot be uninstalled just download and use another browser if you don't want to use Microsoft Edge

Right click Start > Apps & Features > Microsoft Edge > left click > uninstall

The latest version, based on Chromium, is a pretty sharp browser. I would advise against uninstalling it and suggest trying it as your reserve browser. If you do insist on uninstalling it then it will not be fully removed but you won't see it.

In Windows 10 on my laptops in apps & features, and in 'advance options' of apps & features, every option to uninstall Edge is greyed out.

Like I said in my previous post if you have the latest windows 10 update it makes the new Chromium Edge part of windows and not a standalone download that is the reason why it is greyed out and can't be uninstalled you just have to use another browser if you don't want to use the new edge.

I wanted to remove it because I was annoyed that the new version downloaded itself. Afterwards I twice had to delete the shortcut from my Desktop before it stayed off the Desktop. Then when I went to open Firefox (my default browser) Edge launched itself and I had a bit of a battle of wills using Task Manager to shut it down. It also caused Firefox to freeze until I got Edge closed. I am not going to use Edge because I do not want to use it. I would most certainly uninstall it if that option existed.

I guess the differences we're seeing are due to Win 10 versions. I'm still on 1909 but others may by now be on 2004.
