Uninstalling PC Cillin

My sister & brother-in-law just got a new laptop... It came with PC Cillin... They just want to use a free AV and I'm going to install Avast on the computer as well as anti-spyware applications and a software firewall...

I'd like to know what's the best way to go about uninstalling PC Cillin... Add/Remove Programs via Control Panel the best way to go about doing that? Are there multiple components to remove from that menu (like with Norton)...

I just want to get all the PC Cillin remnants off the computer so I can install Avast and ensure everything runs smoothly for them....

 

My computer came with it and I unistalled it from add/remove and rebooted and it was gone. But too make sure check the C:\Program Files\ for the folder and you can run a registry cleaner too get rid off anything left in the registry from it.

 

bump... i was looking at the computer in question today and checked Add/Remove programs... only saw one entry for PC Cillin Internet Security Suite 12 (or 13) on there.... I'm assuming that's all I need to uninstall?

Having been a former norton user I'm well aware that there can be many remnants of Anti-virus software after you try to get rid of it...
