I recently uninstalled an AV/Firewall suite of programs.. It left my machine internet connectivity devastated... I have since disabled and/or removed files that were left behind lingering in my system.. In the past I have run Avast/Norton(not by choice) and McAfee AV's.. and the some of them won't let me uninstall unless I am in safe mode.. This last program let me think I was uninstalling it but left crap behind. So my question is should I always uninstall programs (of any kind) from the safe mode...

    Thanks in advance,
    Scott

For any programs that Add/Remove Programs can't uninstall, I would recommend running the below to make sure all the leftovers are removed.

Download Your Uninstaller! 2006 5.0.0.360, save to desktop and install.

Locate anything in the list and uninstall. When I do malware cleanups, I usually run this in Safe Mode but that's something I do everyday. For the average user, I would say normal mode is fine, some programs with handles may require a reboot but this program will alert you if this situation occurs.
