Uninstalling SP2

Just wondering if i m going to uninstall sp2, will there be any problems that might occur? And when i do uninstall it, is it possible for me to download it again? Thx in advance!

 

Problems? Might? Yes.

But if you uninstall SP2 through Add-Remove Programs, and roll back to your Restore Point that the SP2 installer created when it began the installtion process, you shd have a minimum of glitches; maybe none.

Download it again? Absloutely! No problem.

Best is to get the CD (or if you're on broadband, download the Network Install). That way, you don't have to fiddle with being online, you can kill your anti-V and your firewall while you're running the installation, you can stop all unnecessary programs from stating at startup, you can reboot a bare-bones boot, or even a Safe Mode boot, and run the install in that.

Easy, eh?

what do u mean by minimum glitches... like i mean what type of glitches m i going to expect when i do get them. And for the uninstalling part, do i just remove from add/remove, or do i have to make ne backups or whateva, cuz i really bad at comps and this thing is laggin my internet so i need to remove it. Thx

 

Use the Add or Remove Programs tool in Control Panel
1. Click Start, click Run, type appwiz.cpl in the Open box, and then click OK.
2. Click to select the Show Updates check box.
3. Click Windows XP Service Pack 2, and then click Remove.

Do i just do that to remove it??? without using system restore or anything else???
