    Hi,
I was just wondering what is the program that displays the last login time in unix and is it possible to stop displaying this or edit the output?

    Try this:
the command ac should give you the records of the logins.

For more info, try the command man ac
to see the manual page, which should be tailored to your distribution.

I cannot say from experience (I am a Linux user), but the records are kept
(usually) in /var/adm/wtmp (stored in /etc on SCO UNIX systems)

A binary database containing the date and time of the last login for each user is sometimes found in /var/adm/lastlog

BSD and System V accounting seem to be a little different.
Apparently, on BSD systems, accounting (including recording login times) is on by default, and to disable it, the command accton can be given, without an argument. But, you may have to comment out the accton command in the startup file /etc/rc in order to keep it from being enabled on the next boot.

Hope this gets you started in the right direction.
