    Greetings all,

    Q. I have a Maxtor Maxattach NAS 3000 which is about to give out soon and I'd like to transfer the data off of it onto a Dell Powervault Running Windows Server 2K3 File /Apps. Are there any pitfalls in doing this? What would be the best appoarch to it?

The Maxtor has a 2G transfer cap. According to Maxtor I was told to go to Microsoft and look for "File Service for Unix" Does this make sense?

The Maxtor drive has 70G of files on it, there has to be a safe, fast way to move it...Right??

    Thanks for your imput!

I think all you will find is "Print Services for UNIX" not "File Services for UNIX".

The place to check would be Add/Remove Windows Components control panel. To get there open up the control panel, and choose Add/Remove Windows components.
