Unjoining Domain

    Hi,

Have a major problem on a network I am installing. I have a customer who has a w2k server and I am installing a new sbs 2003 server as the domain controller then demoting old 2k server just to be a member server.

I have some of the clients disjoined from the old domain no problem but i have about 10 clients that will not disjoin from the domain, either to join to new one or to put into a workgroup. I have tried logging on with local admin account, old domain admin account, new domain admin account and using the above to disjoin from old domain as well, but no joy. One thing I notice though is that the netlogon service isn't running, won't let me do anything with it either - no text beside it to say whether its automatic, manual, started, stopped etc. If i double click the service, I get an error 5 "access denied".

These are a mixture of 2k pro and xp pro machines. The xp machines actually ask you to input username and password with permission to unjoin from the domain but then come back with "access denied". The 2k pc's just come straight back with "access denied". There is no set pattern to it, I have 50 clients disjoined and joined to the new domain no problem. I have latest service packs on and have even tried upgrading 2k machines to xp (which funnily enough sorted the problem on one of them) but not on others.

    Any ideas greatly appreciated!

    Cheers
