    Hey there guys,

been using my PC for a wile now. Not done a reinstall so i know i need to do one soon which i was planning on doing pretty soon.

I have had an error come up saying "Unknown Hard Error" near the System Clock in Windows XP Pro SP2. I do not know what this is i haven't installed any new Hardware or Software within the last 4 months. So i am REALLY not sure of what this could be.

I was just hoping there would be someone out there that could tell me or let me know what they might think it might be.

I am good at keeping an eye on what software is running on my computer so i wouldn't say it is any Spyware or Virus of some sort.

    My Computer is:

    AMD Athlon 64 3200
    2GB XMS DDR 400 RAM
    200GB Maxtor HDD SATA
    Floppy DD
    BTC DVD ROM Drive
BTC DVDRW 1x Dual Layer Drive
    Asus A8N 939 Socket
    Gefore 6600GT AGPX8
    Windows XP Pro SP2

If you need more information on my PC let me know guys. Just sleepy now and going to bed. Let me know if anyone knows about this problem and knows how to sort it. Or do they think there is something wrong Hardware wise?

    Thanks!

I know you think you may be virus free ..but that is a very strange place for that kind of message ...so:
Bitdefender agree to the license and then select Scan. DO NOT CHANGE THE OPTIONS TO SHOW ALL FILES SCANNED. That will make your logs huge and we don't need to see clean files. Once Bitdefender completes the scan:

Click-on the Detected Problems tab. Then select Click here to export the scan report

When the window comes up to save the report, change the Save as type: box to Text (Tab Delimited) (*.txt) and then in the File name box enter change to bdscan then click save. This will save a file named bdscan.txt in whatever folder you are currently in when you save the file (take notice of where you are at so you can find it later). This bdcan.txt file will actually contain HTML code that we can easily view later while reviewing your log. All we have to do is rename the file to bdscan.html.

If no virus detected, then try to reinstall your WinXP and do not wait

I recall doing a Reinstall of Windows XP in the end which did fix the problem! However I do know now it was the Sony PS2 EyeToy Cam I was using as a Webcam seemed to be causing that problem I THINK!

Not 100% but I am sure it was something along the lines but most def doing the Reinstall fixed it.

    Hope that helped!

Well I was eventually able to load XP. I had to work my way to a format. Not usually a difficult thing. I still have an issue concerning SM Bus with no driver. But I have a post which May lead:yum:):) to an answer. Thank you for your reply.
