I have a problem with some unknown program that is on my computer.

I'll be in a game, i.e. FSX or COD and will the game will either pause or minimize the window. It doesn't kick me out of the game; it does the same thing if I switch windows while playing.

At first I thought it was the game or something I did. Then today I was typing in Word, turned around to pick something up. When I went to continue typing, which was less than 10 seconds, it seemed as if I hit the desktop with the mouse. Word was still the forward window but I wasn't on it.

When I think about it this seemed to have started about one to two weeks ago. I didn't load any new programs around that time.

    My system:
    Core 2 Quad
    4Gb Ram
    Vista 64
    GeForce 9800GT

I keep my system updated with auto update. I use Mozilla, CCleaner, AVG and Spybot. I do a full system scan once a week and run the cleaners once a month.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

I tried to do a search; but what do I search for? I tried ghost and unknown program but didn't come up with anything helpful or remotely close.

    Thanks again.

Is the game keyboard or mouse driven !

I use a MX 518 mouse and G15 keyboard in both games and a Saitek X45 joystick in FSX. I have had both games loaded on this computer since I bought it in June of this year.

When I'm in FSX I run it as a window, the game will pause and the outline will go subdued as if it's not the primary program running. COD I run full screen; it will minimize to the task bar and I have to click it to open back up.

But I don't think it is the games since it happened while I was in Word and the games were not running.

I found out what the problem was, or I was directed to the issue by a friend.

It seems there was an issue with the upgrade to AVG 9.0. He gave me a link to their website where others were talking about the same thing happening on their systems.

I did a complete uninstall, rebooted my system and then reinstalled AVG 9.0 with the update update 707.

I've been working now for almost two hours and have not had the problem appear.
