Unknown running App.

I just noticed that a new icon is in my taskbar. I've searched everywhere but unable to find this program. Can someone tell me what it is it says Real Message Center, it says it has 1 new message but will not open or give me the properties so I can get rid of this unwanted App. It doesn't show up in my taskbar apps.
I am using Windows Vista:confused
32 BIT

It sounds like it is part of RealPlayer. Do you get any options by right-clicking the icon?

A couple but it will not open. Maybe I'll just uninstall real player.

Hi

Likely you have Real Player installed and this is the Message Center it installs that starts at boot, Open Real Player and click Tools > Preferences > Automatic Services and click Configure Message Center and untick check for new messages and show message center icon in tray, click OK and close.

You can also if you dont need RealPlayer to start with your PC delete it from the Startup list, use CCleaner and click Tools > Startup and find real player and delete (dont disable) it, each time real player updates though like many other applications that add themselves to the startup list you will have to delete again.

EDIT: noticed your post as I was typing and an uninstall will do the trick so long sa you dont need Real Player for any media files you may have.

I un-installed real player from ad and remove programs. Icon disappeared, BYE.
I use Apple Quicktime or Windoiws Media player for most of those files I use. Thanks for your help.
