I am running a Windows XP media center edition SP3 on my old computer and since yesterday, my boot files became corrupted, giving me an "Unmountable Boot Volume" error. I plan on using the Windows XP recovery disk, but there's one problem: The computer never came with it. Any ideas on how to download it online onto a CD? Thanks.

You can download the Recovery Console here. Burn the iso with Imgburn or other burning software that can burn iso images. Boot the CD and then at the command line type:

    chkdsk /r

This will probably take awhile. And, it may not fix the problem.
