Okay, here I am again, guys! I have an issue. After redaing the previous posts regarding this same issue, I feel I had to still ask. I do not have the original disks to this Dell Inspiron 1300 anymore (thanks, honey). The computer was running slow for a few days but nothing like OMG. Then I turned it on one morning and got the blue screen of death with the unmountable boot volume listed as the problem. I read the previous listings and they say throw in the CD from the manufacturer, etc.

Is there a way to get around all this and get the puppy started again? I have the disks for my desktop but even then, I can't get the screen to fire up on any screen but the blue one.

    Help!!

    Take care,

    Greetings, Roy...

Can you access BIOS? Seems like it's F12 on an Inspiron, but it may be F1 or F2...if you can, you should be able to see if the HD is recognized or not, which should be your first step in troubleshooting this thing...

While you're in BIOS, change the boot order to 'CD first', in case you can get your hands on a Windows or Linux disk...also, your Dell Service Tag should show up, with which you could contact Dell and get replacement disks for the Inspiron...
