I have a backup drive with all of my files on it from a laptop and desktop PC. Neither of the original two computers work, so I bought an iMac.

The hard drive is a Seagate 250GB external USB 2.0 drive formatted as FAT 32.

I was browsing the files on the drive before I transferred the contents to the MAC and the MAC froze. I hit the power button the kill the whole machine. When I powered it back up it said the drive was unreadable by the iMac. I went into disk utilities and it still shows FAT32 and 250GB, but the MAC cant mount it. I tried going back to the PC and it says it is not formatted.

Someone mentioned for me to try DiskWarrior, I bought it and it wont help me because the drive is FAT32, it only supports HFS.

Should I try Data Recovery II for the MAC? Will that work for me?

Are there any utilities for a PC that I can run? I cant find any good ones on the web similar to the ones for the MAC, but to run FAT32...

Thanks so much in advance, all of my pictures and music is on here. I need to get the data back!

    Jeff
