I had Windows 98 and yesterday I had my computer wiped clean and XP installed. I had backed up Quicken Data and now it will not restore. I went to Jufsoft.com and used the eval. version of BadCopy Pro v3.76 and it says the QDF (date file where all my stuff is) is 100% unrecoverable. So am I TOTALLY SUNK? Any desperate measures I can try or find someone to try
-or- or do I give up, take a chill pill and go from here. I have used a computer for many years but am very novice about how to try to fix something, so please explain carefully. Many thanks!

Welcome to MG. While you are waiting for some USA based help, may I suggest that you take your backup to a friend, or business, and see if their version of Quickup will read your backup. Get 2 or 3 separate opinions before you give up all hope. Maybe you can install an eval copy of Quicken ( from Quicken, USA, or a pc mag, and try to restore your backup there. Sorry I can't be of more help. Bazza

PS: Google link, on "quicken backup".

    http://www.google.com/search?as_q=&num=20&hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&btnG=Google+Search&as_epq=quicken+backup&as_oq=&as_eq=&lr=&as_ft=i&as_filetype=&as_qdr=all&as_occt=any&as_dt=i&as_sitesearch=&safe=images
Maybe try www.plexxa.com. One of the links on the right hand side of the google search. Best of luck. Baz

I ordered Quicken 2005 Deluxe, as mine was 2000 Basic and will try that. Intuit no longer supports 2000, so the online info doesn't help me. If that doesn'thelp, should I pay a computer tech specializing in "data recovery" to try to recover from disk, and can they even possibly recover from hard drive even though it was wiped clean to install XP?
