    Hi,

My PCs USB ports stopped responding out of the blue the other day, not sure what to make of it. Running windows 7 on a Pentium i4.

The usb ports will still charge devices but windows won't recognize them, thank god my keyboard is PS2 but mouse-via-keyboard is still awkward as anything.

Tried going into the bios and resetting defaults, no system restore to go back to (I know, I know), all the USB devices I've tried work just fine on my laptop.

Also tried deleting all my usb drivers and restarting, no dice.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

Before trying system restore etc, let windows "refresh" the USB driver subset.
Go into device manager right click My Computer, select Properties, Hardware, Device Manager
Scroll down to the Universal Serial Bus tree, click the + at left to expand the tree
Right Click any idem that is either a USB Controller or USB ROOT HUB and select Delete (it only removes a reference the files to use it are still on the system)
Now reboot the PC and let windows do it's "found new hardware" thing for a few minutes.
Reboot again and try a USB device. This usually fixes unresponsive USB systems.
