UNWANTED...need to get rid of media ctr

hi, i've tried everything i can to delete media center from my c:, but no luck i'm using xp.
got any ideas. i know it's embedded in some pgm, but it doesn't show in add/remove.

If I understand what you are trying to do correctly, it's embedded in your O.S. (Windows XP Media Center Edition) - you cannot remove it, nor should you try to.

 

hi, to tell the truth, if i could just rid myself of the obnoxious bwong it makes at start up, i'd probably just forget @ it. i like media player better than center, but it has the start up priority over player, i've tried to make player the default, but the os won't recognize the status.
whaddaya thnk?

 

the center isn't in the actual start up menu, but it is the default pgm. whenever i put in a dvd, the center starts. even 'tho' i've specified that i want player, i keep getting center.:confused
