Update On Can This Computer Be Saved?

My HP G62 has been working for the past week now. My previous post explains the problem. Although it works - it will now start and operate. after taking some programs off that felt were causing it to run super slow. it still runs slow when it's on the internet. I have Norton, which should catch malware & virus that might be causing it to run so slow. But the machine is operational for now.

computer worked fine - until I had the issue of not being able to get the machine to boot up. It now starts and puts the icons up on the screen. It's a laptop and so I'm using the wifi one time it'll come up with access denied, check windows diagnostic (or something like that). can't seem to get there. and other time it'll be something about blocked. I have Norton as my security. It never did this before the my other issue with the computer not starting. Seems like pages don't load & there is a lag time for doing anything. Norton scan says things are fine.

 

maybe needs a new cmos battery or hardrive is weird

try a new harddrive

 

If the battery you're talking about is the one that came with the machine. Those were bad. We just use the electricity and used it that way for years with no problems. .

Have also read where Windows Defender might be causing a problem, though I don't know why it's there. I've had windows 10 for a while and never had that problem before.

hit del or some f key when it boots then reset settings each time otherwise
