I just installed this program, RadarSync, on my "mainboard utility CD", that will scan your stuff and let you know about driver updates and I did that and updated my bios and that was all she wrote. Will not boot-no signal to monitor at all-does not come close to booting-hard drive light just stays on-that's all. My rig is home built-P4 2.4 GHz intel, 800 fsb, 1 gig of ram, 875p infinity system board, 120 meg hard drive(OS on this one) and 200 meg hard drive. Things were working great up until this. My window xp disk doen't do a dam thing ether. Any help out there would be great-I've got some work coming up soon and I need my machine back. Thanks, Steve

Reset your bios. Typically this is as easy as moving a jumper from pins 1-2 to 2-3 and back again. Your motherboard manual should have more. If not, look near the battery for a 3 pin jumper. This is pretty standard on most boards. In some cases, it may be 2 pins and you just touch them together with a jumper, paperclip, etc. They are all marked differently, cmos, rst cmos, or similar.

Sorry to hear of your problems, hopefully the reset will work for you, but it's possible there's nothing there to 'reset' anymore. BIOS flashing is a dicey affair at the best of times. My advice is to NOT try it unless it definitively fixes a known problem you're having, otherwise you might end up saying...

Thanks for the help-I tried the reset-nothing changed-I guess my mother board is garbage-I'll be damed if I ever update the bios again.

Damn, well that is unusual, but possible.

I can't think of a more dangerous program (Apart from Internet Explorer :) ) than having a utility flash your bios in the background, regardless whether it is the motherboard's program or generic.

If it's still under warranty and the utility was on a supplied CD, I would take it up with the manufacturer or supplier.

Sorry to hear of your tribulations. My problem, described at http://majorgeeks.com/vb/showthread.php?t=28780 started when I downloaded the BIOS update from the factory. I had to send it back to the factory for repair. Thankfully, it was under warranty.

I will never do another BIOS update EVER!

    Good luck.
