 I have been thinking of upgrading my windows. I have Me now and I know there has to be something better out there. Which is better XP or 2000?

I'd say XP, but make sure you get XP pro.

Its more productive for those of us if you:

1: Use a title explaining your question rather then something generic or ???????

    2: Give your system specs.

Help us help you, were not mindreaders :)

Definately Wndows XP Pro. It is very stable and will be more compatible with games than windows 2000 :)

    XP.
agreed with MA. you should probably do a little research on your own as well, and not rely so much on our opinions.

For my own edification and understanding what's being said, can you buy an XP Pro update and install on a clean drive as long as you have a valid prior OS CD? Or are you presenting 2 distinct options - XP update over existing OS or XP full on a clean drive? If the former is true, then it sounds like one would need to boot from a floppy/CD, re-format the hard drive then do the update - right?

Cool, didn't know that. I have an emachine at home with only restore disks, i.e., no OS install CDs. I have to keep this in mind for in the future. Thanks.
