Updating Software for Apps.

Hi:

I recently downloaded Sumo-lite software which is supposed to be piece of software that will help you find out what software on your computer needs to be updated. Well, after I also had it on my USB drive and did a scan with ClamWin and it detected a virus so I deleted it from my USB (\SUMO Software Updater\SUMo Lite 2.8.0.88 ML Portable.rar: Trojan.IRCBot-3427 FOUND)

So, basically I would like to know if there is a another free(virus free) piece of software that can tell me what software on my computer and USB needs updating.

If you got the Sumo-Lite from here, it is virus and malware free.
Lots of AV programs flag things as threats when they aren't. Just because they have to "call home".
I have had SuperAntiSpyware and MalwareBytes flagged as dangerous. (This was by Panda Cloud when it first came out).
I believe it was a false positive (or false alarm).
