This is over my head a bit, however i need to replace my hard drive. I currently have a:

    Compaq Presario 6024US PC Desktop
Processor Intel Pentium 4 1.8 GHz
Installed Memory 512 MB (DDR SDRAM)
Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
    Processor Type Intel Pentium 4
    Processor Speed 1.8 GHz
    Processor Manufacturer Intel
    Motherboard Bus Speed 400 MHz
Installed RAM 512 MB x2 Max Supported RAM 1 GB
    Installed Video Memory 64 MB
    Hard Drive Capacity 80 GB

I was told i could upgrade to 120 GB hard drive per HP. Could anyone rec a good inexpensive brand? Second, this computer is used for gamming and would i benifit from a higher hard drive than the original 80? Finally, Can i use my restore disc that came with the computer on this new HD?

    Thank you in advance!

80g is a fair whack of hard drive space.
Would you benefit from a larger hard drive?....probably not!

It depends on your gaming requirements?
If you want to play in todays 'high end' online market then no!
Your system specs are below those required, so no amount of extra hard drive space is going to help!

Your HDD capacity seems well suited to your systems gaming capabilities as it is, IMHO.

The restore disk will be for your OS, and seeing you will have your OS on the new drive, then yes....you can use it!

    Regards.....

If your system is not under warranty and you feel comfortable enough with installing your drive, installing the OS and transfering your data, then you can give it a try.....

From what i am gathering for info it seems little benifit to increase much past the 80gb i currently have. As for games, I play World of warcraft and City of heroes with little problems. The memory has been upgraded to max and i have a updated video card in that i didnt list. Thank you for all the extra info!
