  1. I have a dell with a 3.0 HT right now. I know it will go up to a 3.8HT CPU if i want .But, is it worth it? would there be much of a speed gain? I think i can use a 2.8 dual core (maybe). And is there any difference between a dual core and a core 2 dual. I've hear "dual core" thrown around so much that i have no idea what's what. Is there a differance in dual cores other than the extreme CPU's and regular dual cores?

Depends what you do, the higher speed would be better for most games (since most games won't utilise both cores), but for other things, like word processing, dual core is better.

IMHO the speed boost that you will get from the new cpu will not be noticeable

    Good Luck
