Since upgrading to xp pro a couple of months ago, my cpu doesn't recognize some usb hardware. Also, sometimes I can download a windows update and sometimes I can't

 I'm at the point of wanting to revert to xp home. Is there an easy way to revert? What will be saved/lost?
    Thanks,

    No way to revert.

As for WIndows Update, the site has problems. If its working sporadically, its not your computer. MS is aware of the issue and will fix it sometime before the year 2007...

As for some USB hardware not being detected, I would try reinstalling the USB controllers. Was the stuff installed in Home? You might have to axe the enum keys for it before it redetects.

Upgrades from Home to Pro generally do not bode well, because the only sane people doing them are the ones going from OEM to retail. Going from retail to retail, well, I would like to have some of the money they are throwing away...

Its really not reccomended, by the OEM , or MS.

I did install the usb drivers in Home. What about reinstalling Home? Is it advisable? What is saved/lost?
