    Hi there,

I have an old Dell GX280 that i want to use as my iTunes server.

At present it has a 40Gb WD400 Westen Digital Caviar SE Serial ATA Hard Drive.

I would like to replace this with one of larger capacity but got confused by all the replacements available. I don't know if its SATA I or II so that stumped me.

I would like another WD drive around 500Gb - 1Tb in size and have seen Caviar Green and Black drives. The green ones i have been told may not be suitable for running as a sole HD.

This HD will be the main HD as it is going in a Small Form factor PC with Win XP and will be used just for connecting to the Net and mainly iTUNES and used to synch with iPODS.

If anyone can let me know what HD would fit this PC that would be great.

    Thanks

Presumming you have a 3.5" HDD slot, then you can select just about any HDD you like! I would recommend Western Digital, they seem to be very reliable.

I'm not 100% sure, but i think that whether it is SATA I or II makes no damn difference, i could be wrong though!

Cheers, I have gone for a Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATAII 16MB Cache 3.5 inch Internal Hard Drive
