$120 for Home or $200 for Pro is a hefty price to pay after missing the free upgrade. It's good imo, and it's the future of Windows, but it will be cheaper 12 months from now I think.

Much depends on whether you upgrade your current setup or do a fresh install. Either way, the closer you are to a basic single drive setup, the higher the likelihood of an easy progression, with an upgrade, you might need to backtrack on some 'tweaks' and 3rd party software (esp. those that use drivers/filters that load at boot), getting your current Windows closer to a default install but with the latest drivers.

I'd opt for a test upgrade first, to see what W10 drivers install and check for stability/bugs, if any bugs are noted with the default/updated W10 drivers, you can then roll them back, or install the latest drivers or W10 from the hardware/OEM maker. With a clean install, you don't have a driver rollback option until W10 makes any post-install driver updates.

Given that we're now 2 upgrades and loads of patches in, and there are still bugs waiting to be ironed out, you might be best off waiting as Earthling suggests.

Downloading an app just puts the installation file somewhere on your computer, usually in Downloads. It doesn't activate it so find the downloaded file and run it.

The Yahoo mail app doesn't work in Android so perhaps it also doesn't work in Windows.

I've never tried the Yahoo mail app. I just go the mail site in Windows, linux, and android, log in and view my mail.
