I had a Vista virtual machine running in VMWare Workstation 12 Player.I forgot that my Moto E6 was still in hot spot mode. I noticed the wireless or network indicator was active so i went back to the start menu up to Iexplorer and clicked.

It went straight to MSN Network. I could move the mouse around and click on headings, but I couldn't get any input from the keyboard to work as in the Search box.
Across the top was a banner that had some of today's main topics in the headlines. I clicked on one then it dropped down to a row of selections on the main page so I clicked on 'News'.

After just a brief moment it came back with
To enjoy a better experience you need to upgrade to a newer browser.
Here's what you can do now:
Upgrade your browser to the newer Microsoft Edge browser
Install the newer MicroSoft Edge Chromium browser
    Upgrade to Windows 10 now!

I had to just laugh :0

The latest Microsoft Edge is buggy, and the adds are annoying- I went back to Opera.

I have a near identical VM and get a similar experience. Haven't looked at the MS Edge option but did take a look at the W10 option. I had wondered if it was another way MS were offering a free upgrade but no, it isn't, just information about 10.

Really puzzled by that. I'm not seeing any ads at all with uBlock Origin installed unless I have white listed a site such as this one, and haven't encountered a single bug either. The new Chrome version is at least twice as fast as my longtime favourite Firefox and I can see it becoming my default browser soon the way it is performing.

I just fired up edge in my Win7 and it did seem quite quick. I have ublock set too tight it seems as I'm missing content on pages I'm used to seeing. Last month I remember a lot of unrelated items (ads?) on most any place I went. Also the mbyte use added up real fast compared to normal, hence a reason I added ublock. Still needs more work for me to reach a middle-ground........but I won't be installing it to my Vista VM:eek::p

I suppose I just found it not as good as I would like- I will have another go with edge, but I do find Opera 'comfortable ' personally.
