Im planning on upgrading my computer soon so I could use some ideas. Here is what i currently have:

    Pentium 4 3.0 HT
    512 pc3200 2.5 latency RAM
240 watt power supply, really weak and can barely support my current stuff
Geforce FX 5200 AGP (no PCI express...)
    180 gig 7200rpm hdd
    Creative Inspire P7800 7.1 speakers

    planning on getting...

512 or 1 gig more RAM, probably OCZ, Corsair or Patriot
Geforce 6800 (cant find any 256mb AGP versions)
Creative Audigy2 ZS (kinda on a budget so this is probably my best bet)
    450+ watt power supply
Saitek Eclipse or Logitech G15 keyboard

    any ideas would be great

1 gig of ram, not 512. IF your going for non generic *i* reccommend OCZ from prefrence and use, if not go for a pair of G.Skills.

Don't bother with ZS if your on a budget, the only diffrence between Aud2 and Aud2 ZS is support for 7.1 speakers, but if thats a must, go for it not many games support 7.1.

The 6800 is fine I've seen thats its very hard to find a 6800gt/ultra with 256mb, very rare.

Don't cheap out on the PSU, go for some rock steady stuff like OCZ / Pc power and cooling / Enermax / Antec etc. The PSU is one of the most important overlooked components, think of it as if the PSU as the circulatory system in the body, with a weak flow everything eles fails sooner or later.

yeah i have 7.1 speakers and wanna take full advantage of them so I think ill just get the ZS even if it is a lil more moolah.

I was just gonna get a vanilla 6800, the gt and ultra are too much $$. And the RAM, i was loooking mainly at patriot because its a lil less expensive and has low latency. Probably the "extreme performance" stuff Also, my friend has some and loves it. I dont really know much about power supplies so thx for the info.

Patriots pretty good, I believe their former name was PMI. Like I said for PSU look those names up OCZ/PC cooling being the best.
