Anyone know if it is okay to remove old ME files (say during disk cleanup) to free up some space. I upgraded to XP from ME.

    Thanks

I cautiously kept my WIN98 files on my first upgrade installation of XP, and eventually deleted them without incident. In retrospect, however, I wish I had done a clean install as there were always some odd minor things like Appearance occasionally reverting to Classic style on reboot.

Yeah I toyed with the idea of a clean install too. Might still do it. It's good to know I can dump all those old files without messing things up too bad.

    Thanks
