I have an eMachine with a pitiful 448 MB of RAM. I would like to upgrade to at least a gig and hopefully it will make the computer run smoother. What does everyone reccomend that I get for brand and how would I set it up in the BIOS to get it to work?

Also how do I check to see what type of mobo and memory I have now?

    Thanks

RAM is usally Plug and Play. You should not have to make any changes to your BIOS. I usally buy my RAM from Crucial http://www.crucial.com/ and use their Memory Configurator to match the current RAM in system I'm working on. Corsair has a similar tool. You actually have 512 installed in your system with 64 dedicated to Video.
