    Ok guys, here's my predicament:

Ive come up with $300 from my birthday and I think i may finally give my computer some lovin' since recently (the last $3000 lol) have all gone into upgrading my car. Here's where i have some thinking to do:

    1) Spend this money upgrading my current setup with another gig of RAM and a new processor, maybe new video card

    2) save up for a whole new setup

I know it would probably be in my best interest and long term financial intelligence to save it until I can put a whole new system together but I hate hate hate not being able to keep up with other modern setups. I could pick up an x1950XT, another gig of RAM and a P4 EE or pentium M dothan core and overclock the crap out of them and I'd have a pretty decent rig. That would run me ~$400 as opposed to a decent core 2/quad setup running me about $1200 with plenty of room to upgrade.

    SO, what are your thoughts?

I would go with ram , video and not stress about the processor too much until you can update mobo to make a processor upgrade worthwhile but thats my humble opinion :)

yeah thats kinda what i was leaning towards too...ram is so dang cheap now, i can pick up another gig of nice stuff for $50

I killed my old 6800XT lol, it just up and died one day and i havent gotten around to getting it replaced (lifetime warranty ftw!) Good thing it's not easy to prove it's been overclocked, muahaha. So now im stuck with this old POS Geforce 2 MX400 lmao, i havent played a 3d game on this computer in god knows how long, ive been stuck with the oldies (but goodies) like command and conquer (all of them) and starcraft but ive beat them all so im kinda bored now lol...

when you are ready for a full upgrade to dual or quad and pci ex video cards you should get a nice boost :)but with a good video card and the ram that system should do good for atleast a year. I still play cnc :p except now I'm running cnc3 but I live on fps games so I feel for ya :)
