This laptop currently has no built in CD Drive -it does have an external CDRW/DVD Read drive installed via a dongle to usb 2.0. -I would like to drop in the WIN OS install CD to this USB 2.0 Drive -I've tried to tell the BIOS to boot from the external -but no love.
IS there a way to install a new OS on this type of laptop?
    Thanks for any suggestions.

they must have used a external source to load the OS if like came like that
i cant see why it can't see it through the USB cable ,does it recognise it as new hardware when you plug in
can you see it in the bios

Why don't you just copy the CD onto the hard drive & install it from there?
