Currently I'm using a Nvidia 670 Graphics card and I'd like to update to something a bit newer, but how do I know what options I have available that will actually fit my motherboard, with minimal hassles? Also is fitting a graphics card a very difficult procedure,as I'm thinking about fitting it myself,or trying to at least,if I can without too much risk to my computer in the process.

In the future, please check through the reports you post. I don't know if you used SIW to generate the report but, your Product Key shows.

Replacing a graphics card isn't very difficult though it might be a little fiddly depending on the PC internal layout.

    Budget?

Does your PC have a make/model #? If not, what case make/model does it use?

    Screen resolution?

Power supply make/model/wattage? Amperage on the 12v rail(s)? Age?

EDIT: I see the monitor details now - HP 2011 1600x900 pixels 32 bit 60 Hz.

First off, I was looking to keep this under $600 if possible.I use a Thermaltake lv10GT tower case. I have no idea what power supply it uses,as I had it built by someone that knew more about computers than me,so I trusted there judgement on what was best, but it's no more than 2 years old. If it helps, here's a link on the cooling systems my case uses.http://www.thermaltake.com.au/products-model_Specification.aspx?id=C_00001675

OK, that gives us the maximum graphics card length (VGA length limitation: 360mm) and a budget, now you need to find how to open that case so you can get the power supply stats from the label on it.

What are the main uses of the PC? Do you have a specific software/game in mind?

I mainly use my PC for online gaming and some of the newer games coming out require a GEforce GTX series 7 as a minimum requirement. Mainly I'm looking for the future,so I'd like a card that wouldn't be too expensive, but would be viable for a decent period as well,as I understand that graphics card can be outdated very quickly,as the tech advances.

I'd look at the GTX 970 non-reference designs (not the ones with a single fan at the rear, they're blower types, not required for your well ventilated, large case) here. The AMD/ATI 'equivalents' would all consume more power, so without PSU details, you'll be safer with Nvidia.

Some reviews here but it's a little old. There's likely to be specific reviews for most of the listed cards somewhere.

If you do have a high tier, quality PSU, going with an R9 390/390 X might give you better longevity in that they seem to work better with the latest games and W10/DX12 - but that might change with each driver version or game update/release.

Would this be something I could install myself easily,as I've never done such a thing before? Would it just be a matter of opening the case, removing the old card and then replacing it with the new hardware,or would it be more involved than that,as I'm worried about potentially damaging my system if I don't fully understand what I'm doing?
