I have a copy of an XP Home upgrade disk that was originally SP1 and I slipstreamed SP2 into it and it works great. BUT- I just tried to start an upgrade from Win2000 to XP and it says that the upgrade path was invalid and that Windows could not upgraded. Is this due to the former SP1 status or is this a problem with all XP upgrade CD's and W2k? There's way too many programs and documents to consider formatting and starting from scratch. We were going to purchase a brand new XP Home Upgrade disc, but I thought I'd get the ball rolling early with my slipstreamed CD, but it's not even getting past the first few clicks. Are the newer upgrade CD's capable of upgrading W2k to XP?

Its not an upgrade path because XPH is an upgrade from 9x. XP Pro is an upgrade from 2K.

    Upgrade paths goes as such:

Home to Home or Pro version, Pro to Pro. Thats always how MS has done it.

OK. So I HAVE to use XP Pro. That's kind of lame because it costs a whole lot more than Home. :cry
