Upload Utility

I like uploading videos to YouTube regularly, but currently a 2-minute video takes between 1.5-2 hours to finish uploading. The video I'm uploading from my laptop now is at 64% from 61% a few minutes ago.

It'd be really convenient to have some sort of freeware or utility that can speed the uploads. I don't want to leave my laptop uploading all night just to keep up with my video backlog.

I'm using SuperAntiSpyware, Avast!, and a wired Ethernet connection with Charter internet, if that helps.

Hi

Not come across a specific upload app for youtube (someone may have heard of one) as in the main your at the mercy of their servers (as they generally have to encode your video on the fly to make it compatible with there system) and your upload speed.

What is your internet connection speeds, download and upload, and can run this test here to check.

I followed the speedtest site, results:

Ping: 10ms
Download speed: started faster, dropped gradually to about 19.07Mbps
Upload speed: 3.29Mbps

My gut tells me a faster upload speed is unlikely. Think I will just put up with the slow upload speed.

Try disabling Avast just to test uploading one of your files and see if thats quicker?

As it maybe possible to whitelist the URLs for youtube for Avast, dont have Avast personally but if disabling Avast works for quicker speed, then worth a read up.
