uploading attachments

Hi All,

I was trying to upload an attachment this morn. in a post. It said error in loading attachment that i had used that attachment before in a post. Can you never use the same attachment twice? If so how come? It doesn't seem to make any sence.confused

attachments can only be uploaded once, saves on storage space

If you go to User CP
and scroll down the page, you will see 'Attachments' on the left hand side

right click on the attachment you want to re-post
select 'copy shortcut'
and paste the link into the post you want to reuse it in

Might be slightly different for other browsers, this is for IE7

 

I got the same response when i posted pictures of my car and motorcycle in the wrong post i could not use the same pictures in the second post it said you have used these attachments in post ******************* but when i used one of them in the new shoutbox i loaded no problem?????http://bestsmileys.com/computer1/12.gif

just saw the reply from Shane i now understand;

 

load your piccy the normal way then in the new shoutbox at the bottom right hand side click on BM it will bring another toolbar click I for image and load it

Not familiar with firefox
I would assume that the command 'copy shortcut' may be worded differently in different browsers
But, you know what they say about assuming

not too long ago I did not have a clue how to do this

If you look at my examples in that thread you can see some really rough ways of re-posting attachments. The 'Rikky' method is superior.
If you look hard enough you can also see how quickly someone can quote you before you have time to edit your post

Hopefully someone with firefox may be able to shed some light on my theory.
